Ein Mord der Schweden schockiert hat…
It’s a stormy Swedish summer evening when the phone rings for Berliner Widum. She runs a café in the small village of Blomberg, which is already closed by 7:30 this Sunday evening. On the phone is the mother of Lisa Holm, a 17-year-old student who has been helping out at her café for about a month and a half.
Lisa’s parents had come to the café in the late afternoon for a drink and to visit their daughter at work. They had also offered Lisa a ride home, but instead, after her shift, she preferred to ride her moped herself. It’s the first day she wants to ride her moped to and from work alone, and the 17-year-old isn’t about to let the windy weather stop her.
Around 6:23 p.m., Lisa sends her father a text message: “I’m leaving now.” It’s actually a maximum 50-minute ride from the café to Lisa’s hometown of Gift, but even an hour later, she hasn’t come home, as Lisa’s mother tells the café owner, Lena. ” It’s so strange,” Lena says. “Lena, do you know when the girls locked up and went home?” Immediately, Lena was overcome by a strange feeling because, like every evening, she had called the café shortly after six to ensure that Lisa and her colleagues locked up the café on time
and carefully. Lisa’s Moe understood even before entering the café: the key was in the lock, but the helmet, which usually hung on the handlebars, was gone, just like Lisa herself. And now for today’s video [Music]: Lisa, at 17, has big plans. She wants to become an architect and travel a lot, preferably to Australia. On a world map that she’s hung on her bedroom wall, she marks the places she’s already visited with pins.
June 17, 2015, is actually a completely ordinary Sunday in Lisa’s life. As always, she’s in a good mood, enjoys her work, and is looking forward to riding her moped home alone for the first time that evening. Lisa and her three colleagues drive home together and say goodbye to her at 6:20 p.m. in front of the closed café.
She needs a moment before leaving because of the unsettled weather; she puts on several layers of clothing. Then she sends a text message to her father. Her school graduation is in a few days, but she wo n’t live to see it. Shortly after Lisa sends her father the text saying she’s just coming home, he hears a call from his daughter.
When he answers, he hears only a faint murmur and then his daughter’s voice. He assumes Lisa called him by mistake and that the voices belong to her colleagues. But when the 17-year-old still isn’t home after an hour, the call suddenly takes on a completely different meaning. Lisa’s father immediately gets in the car and drives to meet his daughter, but Lisa is nowhere to be seen on the way home between the café and her parents’ house.
When he arrives at the café and Lena shows him Lisa’s abandoned moped, the adults are baffled. They check the bus schedules to see if the bus is running due to… Perhaps she might have spontaneously taken the bus home that day due to the wind, but it quickly becomes clear that Lisa isn’t using public transport either.
Around 8:30, an hour after Lisa’s mother called Lena at the café, Lisa’s parents contact the police and report the student missing. [Music] The police first search the café from just before 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. on June 8th. The investigation continues at Lisa’s workplace, but it quickly becomes clear that the measures will have to be much more extensive to find the 17-year-old.
On Monday morning, news of Lisa’s disappearance spreads like wildfire through the community, especially when a man finds one of her two moped gloves and a receipt from a restaurant in her hometown turns up far away. Hundreds of helpers scour the small village and help the police in their search for Lisa. They drive to the village after work or take time off to support the search.
The influx of helpers is so great that a small infrastructure with a central food supply has to be created for them. On Tuesday, a public appeal for information follows. Passing motorists are stopped and checked, and a picture of Lisa is displayed along with her full name. They are also shown a picture of Lisa to find out if anyone has seen the 17-year-old.
Meanwhile, search teams around Lena’s café are making initial progress. Some of the student’s belongings are found: her driver’s license, the damaged screen of her iPhone, her phone case, her keys, and a subway ticket from New York that she had brought back from a trip and kept. An earring belonging to her is found in a barn across from the café.
The damaged phone screen is also consistent with the fact that Lisa’s iPhone never logged into another cell tower, suggesting that something must have happened to her not far from or immediately before the café. Not only the volunteer search teams, but also experts who have now arrived, are systematically combing the entire village.
Hundreds of residents are being questioned, and houses in the vicinity of Blomberg are being examined. The Coast Guard is conducting investigations at nearby lakes. Even Interpol is searching internationally for the missing 17-year-old. It is not being ruled out that someone has kidnapped Lisa Holm. Taking her abroad could also have a possible connection to the job of this father, who works for the Swedish military and is specifically responsible for tasks for which ordinary soldiers are not qualified.
However, the police cannot find any connection to this father’s work. Although there are some clues from the items found, the investigators cannot find any real indication of what might have happened to Lisa. Lena’s café is now guarded by the police day and night because the police assume a violent crime and want to be there immediately should Lisa’s alleged kidnappers return to their victim’s last known location.
But on Thursday night, the police do not arrive as promised, and Lena is very annoyed about this, especially when she finds an empty beer can in front of the barn opposite on Friday. Annoyed, Lena suspects that someone must have been there during the night. When she looks through the open door, she sees Nerius Bilevizius and his brother, and thus Lisa Holmes’ murderer.
[Music] So now it is Friday, and actually the day of her school graduation, the day she has been looking forward to for so long, and after which she can finally pursue her dreams. Instead, it becomes the day that it becomes clear Lisa Holm will never be able to make her wishes a reality. At 8:18 p.m.
, the police arrest Nereus Bellevitius, his wife, and his brother. Earlier that day, the body of a girl had been found. As the police would confirm the next day, it was indeed the lifeless body of the missing girl. Initially, members of the search party had found her moped helmet, her jacket, and her headphones in some bushes. About 3 km from Blomberg, in the small village of Marzip, there is a farm where Lisa’s body is finally found not far from her personal belongings.
Nereus Bellevitius had killed her in the barn directly opposite her workplace, where the café owner Lena had unexpectedly encountered him on Friday morning. During the forensic investigation, the officers find a spot on a dusty pipe that appears remarkably smooth and clean. At this point on the pipe, Nereus had attached a rope and hanged Lisa with it in the barn.

Beforehand, he had wrapped duct tape around her head to make it difficult for her to breathe. Still lying on the ground Fibrous salt and a strand of Lisa’s hair were caught on the wall. After the murder, the main suspect transported Lisa’s body to the village 3 km away and hid it in a cupboard in his accommodation.
Her body was partially covered with clothing. The noose used to kill her was still around her neck. Although the forensic examination found no evidence of sexual abuse, it is assumed that Nerius’s motive must have been sexual in nature. A criminal psychologist stated in an interview that he assumes Nerius acted out one of his sexual fantasies.
The police assume that Lisa was killed immediately after the aborted phone call to her father at 6:26 pm. Nerius then took her body to the farm where he worked as a guest worker and hid it there in a locker-like cupboard. Afterwards, he and his wife drove to a supermarket to buy cigarettes, frozen pizza, and milk.
Just an hour and a half after Nerius murdered 17-year-old Lisa, he had a nearby café open a day before the kidnapping and murder. A jogger was ambushed and asked for directions. When she felt uneasy, she ran away from him. It’s possible that Nerius Bellevitius used this same tactic on Lisa. The evidence against him becomes increasingly concrete as the investigation progresses.
In an adjacent area of the barn, traces of his semen and blood were found. Based on this, it is assumed that the perpetrator masturbated during or after the crime. Further traces of blood and DNA from Nerius Bellevitius were also found on the inside of Lisa’s clothing. During these days, the café is no longer a place of encounter and joy, but a space for mourning.
Numerous members of the search groups, friends of Lisa, and the intermediary sit together and reminisce about the past 17 years. As already mentioned, in addition to Nerius Bellevitius, his wife and brother are initially arrested. The two men are suspected of murder, and the wife of concealing a crime. However, the charges against the two co- defendants are soon dropped.
Instead, it becomes clear that Nerius Bellevitius committed the crime alone. In fact, it was he and his brother who found Lisa’s moped glove. They had just picked it up when her The boss had come by and then handed the glove over to the police. Even in court, he stubbornly maintains he never met Lisa and has nothing to do with her death.
He claims the bloodstains at the crime scene were left by his work on the farms. In court, he breaks down in tears several times, but all this does not prevent the court from finding him guilty. Even his own brother, who was initially suspected of also being involved in the murder, implicates Mirius.
He claims Mirius acted strangely after the crime and pressured his brother to provide him with a false alibi. Nerius now claims he was playing an online game during the relevant period, but the analysis of his computer proves that it was switched off between 6:00 PM and 7:35 PM. This definitively invalidates the already shaky alibi of the main suspect.
Nerius Bilovicius is sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Lisa Holm. He fails in his appeal to the court of appeals. The Supreme Court decides that further appeals are not permitted, and the verdict is therefore legally binding. Nerius, a Lithuanian citizen who lived in Blomberg as a guest worker, is deported to his home country.
brought back and allowed to serve his prison sentence there. In an interview, Lisa’s parents said shortly after the arrest of their daughter’s murderer: “We hoped until the very end that she would be found alive. Hope was truly the last thing that left us, and although we have certainty today, we live as if in a bubble, in which we nevertheless still believe that she will come home again.
” Although the Sehterskirchen church, where a memorial service for Lisa Holm will be held on July 7th, is very small, her family decided on an open memorial service. Everyone who participated in the search for their daughter and hoped with the family should be allowed to say goodbye to the 17-year-old student.
Nerius Bilovicius has been in a prison in his Lithuanian homeland for about 5 years. On August 3rd, 2022, Rand threw him into the water. Robertas Raulinas stabbed him with a knife in the prison courtyard around 6 pm. He died on the way to the hospital from his injuries. Nerius’s murderer had already been serving a life sentence since 2001.
He had a A 14-year-old girl was abused and kidnapped, her mother was stabbed to death, and the family home was set on fire. He had already attracted attention in prison in 2015 after allegedly throwing feces at guards following a physical altercation. In 2022, he killed Lisa Holm’s murderer in prison.
The two men had reportedly become friends during their incarceration but then got into an argument that ended fatally for Nerius Bellevuezius. So, for a change, today we have a solved case. In conclusion, I would like to mention once again the great work of the search teams, whose efforts contributed to Lisa’s murderer being apprehended and later convicted just a few days after the crime.
Although this doesn’t change how tragic this case is and how senseless and cruel this death was, it is encouraging to see how many people in Blomberg stood together and supported each other.
