At the end of September 1992, Wicky Feld received a package. More precisely, it was actually meant for her ex-husband Barne, but he moved out some time ago. So Wicky calls him to let him know . B is surprised by the broadcast. He didn’t actually order anything, but it’s obvious to him.
Barboro is written on it, and that’s exactly how his name is listed in the public telephone directory, along with Wicky’s address. So he goes to his ex’s house to see who might be trying to surprise him. He grabs a pair of scissors and opens the padded envelope. What falls out makes his and Wicki’s blood run cold . Many different tools are needed to work on the Insolito videos.
Recording programs, editing software, a good document structure, and so on. And one of the most important tools besides these obvious applications is and remains NordVPN. Without NordVPN, I simply wouldn’t be able to access some of the video sources . However, NordvPN’s service is not only valuable for my work, but also for my private internet use.
Especially the latest generation integrated antivirus . NordVPN offers far more than its name suggests. The antivirus blocks dangerous websites, detects malware in downloads, and even blocks annoying trackers and advertisements. And that’s even before it reaches you. And the best part is, it even works when the VPN isn’t active.
That means you are always protected. And then there are the well-known advantages of a VPN. The digital location can be switched with just one mouse click. You simply log into the app and select the country where you want to be digitally present. NordVPN connects you to the correct server and within seconds completely new content is available, depending on which country you have selected.
This way, even when you are on holiday abroad, you can access your content from home as usual by connecting to a server in your home country . As I said, NordVPM with the latest generation antivirus is simply a must-have for me. If you want to check out the service yourself, take a look at the info box and the pinned comment.
There you will find a link where you can get an extra four months on top of a two-year subscription . You can also test the service for 30 days first. Complete peace and quiet with a money-back guarantee. Feel free to see for yourselves . Many thanks to NordVPN, and now let’s get started with today’s video. Lay can take the morning of August 27, 1992, in a relaxed manner.
Although the 13-year-old’s summer holidays are almost over, she still has a few days off ahead of her. Les’ mother Wicki, however, has to work that day. But first, the two have time for breakfast together. They look at the newspaper and chat a little about L’s upcoming school year.
Because the 13-year-old is about to change schools. Today, an open day is to be held at her new school. The perfect opportunity to take a look around and perhaps make initial contact with future classmates. The grandmother has agreed to pick up her granddaughter later by car and drive her there. And to make the end of the summer holidays a little less wistful, we’ll be going to the Tacoer fast food restaurant for dinner later .
Le celebrated her 13th birthday just a few days ago. She was allowed to invite a few friends to an arcade in a mall in the city. The arcade had tons of games and machines, which the children spent the whole day playing. Jordan was there too. He and Lee met in the swimming pool in the summer of 1991 and have been in a committed relationship for some time now .
Basically, what you’d call being in a committed relationship at 12 or 13 years old. But the two of them really like each other. They talk on the phone every day, and Jordan walked all over Typelo to buy Lay a very specific pair of earrings as a birthday present with his pocket money. Neither Lee nor Jordan have many friends, which makes them all the more important to each other.
At school, Lay is often ostracized by other children. She’s just a little different from the others. Lay is a fidgety child and often restless. She sometimes had minor tantrums in elementary school. Apparently, other children found it difficult to open up to someone like him. The friends the 13-year-old has are really good, like her friend Jordan.
Leutes also has a relationship with her father , even though he has n’t lived with her and Wicky for a long time. In 1992, Donald Oki was living in the US state of Virginia and serving in the military there. That’s how he and Wicky met. Both were in the Army. Donald and Vicki got married and Lee was born soon after on a US staff base in Hawaii. However, the two divorced shortly after the birth of their daughter Lay .
Despite the separation, Donald Lay later describes himself as a total daddy’s boy. The two don’t spend much time together, but when they do, they enjoy it all the more. Donald Bama was stationed in Germany for a while, and Ley once spent her summer holidays there. During that time she even practiced a little German , so that she could talk to other children.
Back in the USA, Donald and Lee see each other as often as possible. Le also has a stepfather named Barny Yabor. However, he and Wiki broke up a few weeks ago, and Barny has already moved out. So, daughter and mother are together again. Le and Wicky live in Typelum, Mississippi, and something unusual happens there on the morning of August 27, 1992 .
A hurricane is passing over the city. When Wiki sets off for the office at around 7:40 a.m., the situation is still under control. However, a warning has already been issued for the Gulf Coast further south in Mississippi . As she enters the office at 7:55 a.m., the raindrops are rattling against the windows faster and faster, and Wicky begins to worry about her daughter . Le is afraid of storms.
She’s already 13, but she’s hardly ever home alone. Today is the first day she’s allowed to stay home completely unsupervised for an entire morning, and then it all starts with a hurricane. Therefore, at around 8:30 a.m., Wicky decides to call the landline to make sure that everything is okay with her daughter.
But nobody answers . This immediately panics Wick. After only a few minutes in the office, she decides to get back in her car and drive home. As she turns into the driveway at approximately 8:45 a.m. , she immediately sees something unusual. Despite the stormy weather, the garage door is wide open and the light inside is switched on.
The light in the garage is activated by a motion detector. When someone enters, the light turns on and then off again after a few minutes. Someone must have been in the garage no more than 5 minutes ago. And when Wick enters the house, she sees blood. Wicky walks through the house and looks for Laye in every room. But the 13-year-old is not there.
In her childhood bedroom, her blanket lies crumpled on the floor. Wicky looks in the garden shed and in the swimming pool in the garden. When she finds Le, she calls the emergency number. Not only is the student missing, but there is also blood in the hallway. The hurricane still needs to gather outside. And the thought that Leedingungen is out there somewhere all alone fills Wicky with pure panic.
Wicky calls the police at approximately 9 a.m. She explains that Leum was alone at home for an hour, and yet she disappeared within that short period of time. Several police officers immediately made their way to 105 Honey Locus Drive, where the mother and daughter live together. Just like Wick himself before him, the Bamen first look around the rooms for clues.
And they quickly find what they’re looking for . Her nightgown is in the laundry basket in Las’s room, and there are several bloodstains on it. There is also blood stuck to the door frame, along with some hair. It looks like someone hit her on the head . The blood is located at a height of approximately 1.50 m. This corresponds to Lay’s height.
Another small trail of blood leads across the hallway, through the living room, and closes off towards the back door. Precisely because Lee wasn’t alone for even an hour , it’s reasonable to assume she’s somewhere nearby. So, search parties and sniffer dogs fan out in the pouring rain. They know the gardens and streets of the neighborhood, and later also the muddy fields all around.
But the dogs cannot take in a single horse . The conditions for the search this morning are, of course, about as bad as they could possibly be. Firstly, there’s the rain, and secondly, the wind. And both of these factors make it difficult for dogs to pick up and locate the scent of a specific person . The family home remains the only place where police can find traces of Lei.
So, a thorough search will be conducted there once again. During this second pass, another bloodstain is found. Initially, it probably went unnoticed because someone apparently tried to wipe it away, but a slight pinkish shimmer can still be seen on the shelf in the bathroom. However, a rag or cloth used to wipe up the trace cannot be found anywhere.
Le is also missing some of her clothes, such as a pair of shorts and some shoes. She received both of them just a few days ago as a gift for her 13th birthday . A set of underwear, her glasses, and her sleeping bag are also gone. What’s also missing are signs of forced entry. Whoever gained access to the house was not prevented from doing so, although Wicki insists that her daughter would never open the front door to a stranger.
While the search is being conducted outside under the difficult weather conditions, an investigation is of course being carried out simultaneously inside . On the day her daughter disappeared, Wick underwent a lie detector test and failed. Okay, a week later she does a second one, which also reveals abnormalities.
The same applies to a third one. Lie detector tests are still conducted in parts of the USA today. While they may not be used as evidence in court proceedings , they are permitted during investigations, for example to put pressure on potentially suspicious persons. When reporters once asked her how she explained the failed tests, she said, “I can’t tell you why.
They measure physical reactions, and when your own daughter is missing and you’re hooked up to machines , I can’t imagine anyone’s body not reacting to it. And that’s certainly a valid point.” Wicky’s ex, Barn, also took a lie detector test. Unlike her, he passed. Eight days after Lay’s disappearance, there was a glimmer of hope. A witness from Boonville, also in Mississippi, came forward.
The witness worked at a McDonald’s there and believed he might have seen Leay Oak through the drive-through window, sitting in the back of a truck. Another witness came forward from the immediate neighborhood in Typelo. She ran a garden center in the city and drove through the area where Lay lived and disappeared every day on her way to work.
Shortly after 8 a.m., the witness said, she noticed two people on a street not far from Honey Locus Drive. They were on foot, a A girl and an older man. Despite the brown hurricane, the girl was n’t wearing a jacket, the witness reported. As she drove by, the man was taking off his own jacket and putting it around the girl’s shoulders .
Then he pulled her towards him, and the two continued walking arm in arm. The man stared straight ahead , but as the witness drove by, the girl turned her head and looked in her direction. They made brief eye contact, and the witness believes this girl was Lay Oki. The witness said she called the police and gave a rough account of her sighting.
She was told they would call back, but that never happened. Consequently, she never gave a proper statement and does n’t know to what extent the police followed up on her tip. In Typelo, there has been great unease since Lei’s disappearance, especially in the immediate neighborhood. After all, it seems a child has been forcibly abducted from her own home .
A neighbor named [name omitted] is also deeply affected by the disappearance of the 13-year-old. The evening before, Lane had visited Ellen. She often dropped by Ellen and her husband’s house. They have a small dog that the 13-year-old loves to play with. Wednesday evening was no different. Le was at Ellen’s and told her that school would start again in a few days .
Then she asked Ellen if she could visit again on Saturday . She offered to let her play with the dog, perhaps for a small amount of pocket money. Amused by the girl’s business sense, Le seemed perfectly normal to Ellen that evening, not at all troubled or burdened. And yet, less than 24 hours later, she vanished without a trace. Just a few days after being spotted at McDonald’s, Wiki received a package addressed to her ex-husband, Barny Yaro.
When they opened the envelope, they found something belonging to Lee inside: her glasses. Oddly, Bar was listed not only as the recipient but also as the sender. The package had a postmark. from Boonwille, Mississippi. Almost 50 km from Typelo, and, more importantly, it’s the exact place from which the witness from the fast-food restaurant called in early September .
Naturally, Wicky and Barny immediately inform the police. The investigators pick up the package and forward the packaging and its contents directly to the FBI . But there ‘s nothing to be found on the envelope or the glasses. The envelope has been affixed with six stamps. That’s almost twice the postage required.
The stamps all have a design. They say “Love” inside a heart. It’s also noticeable that there’s a spelling mistake in the address . They could have simply copied the address from the public telephone directory. The stamps would normally be a good way to find a DNA trace . But they’re soaked through. Nothing can be found, neither on the stamps, nor on the envelope, nor on the glasses.
Not a single trace. And the Boonwille lead itself suddenly becomes less interesting. It turns out that the girl the McDonald’s employee saw wasn’t the missing Lei . The investigators are back in their… Dead end. They suspect the perpetrator tried to lay a false trail with the glasses. However, to this day, they haven’t been able to find out who sent them.

But two months later, there’s a shocking piece of news. On November 9, 1993, a human skull is found in a soybean field in Monroe County . A forensic examination identifies it as Lay Oki’s . This is, of course, a shock for Lay’s family, and the shock is amplified when the report is retracted just a few days later.
The forensic team had made a mistake . The skull does n’t belong to Lay at all, but to a 27-year-old woman named Polen Sui. So the search for the missing woman continues, even though by now virtually all avenues have been exhausted. Lay’s father, Donald Oak, has thousands of posters printed with his daughter’s photo and distributed them to bus and truck companies, hoping the posters will be seen throughout the state .
He even enlists the help of three psychics, people with supposed psychic abilities. All three make predictions that Mr. Oki has little hope. All three agree, however, that water must be involved. For Mr. Oki, this suggests that his daughter may never have left Typelo. There are plenty of lakes and rivers there to make his daughter’s body disappear .
Either way, he is certain that Lay is no longer alive. He says he had this feeling the moment Wicky first called him and told him about their daughter’s disappearance. And this despite the fact that Wicky didn’t mention the bloodstains in the house during her first call on August 28th. She only told him, “Lei disappeared.” Donald says he asked what that meant. “Disappeared.
” Wicky then said the girl had run away from home. Only during a second call did she mention it. A few days later, she discovered the blood in the house and on her nightgown. Even decades later, this, coupled with the lie detector tests, still haunts Donald. Interestingly, in an interview in the early 1990s, Donald says: “I do n’t know if her mother in involved in her disappearance.
Donald Oki is not alone in his doubts , but as the father of the missing woman and ex-husband of Wiki, he can perhaps explain them most directly. In an interview with a podcast almost 30 years after LA’s disappearance, he mentions that Wicki was trained in the US Army and quite explicitly as a person who is allowed to conduct interrogations.
This implies that Wick may have known how to extricate herself from the predicament during police interrogations and questioning. Could she really have had something to do with her own daughter’s disappearance? But there are also much clearer indications that cast Wicky in an unfavorable light .
While Donald was more cautious in his statements shortly after his daughter’s disappearance , decades later he doesn’t offer any theory of his own. Donald doesn’t believe that anyone could have gotten to the house in less than an hour, brought Leubringen, hid a possible murder weapon, and cleaned up the blood in the bathroom. His theory is that his ex-wife Wick killed their daughter the night before and that she lied to the police about the entire timeline.
However, the police determined that Lay was probably injured shortly before Wicky alerted the investigators, because the bloodstains were still wet. The blood would have dried overnight. Nevertheless, investigators are also exploring the possibility that Wicky or her former partner Barnie might be responsible.
Rumors are circulating that Barnie may have been violent towards Lay . It is said that Le has blue spots and has also shown up at school several times with a black eye . Even though this was not linked to the allegations of violence against Barn at the time . Lei is said to have claimed that she sustained the injury while riding or that she was kicked by a horse.
Leinend was sometimes said to have come to school . But I always brushed it off when someone asked and just said that she’d had a bad start to the day. It was also apparently known that Mother Wick sometimes punished Le with beatings. Her teacher tells this story in a podcast produced in 2017.
What the teacher said otherwise really shocked me personally , namely I know that Lee sometimes said that she did something at home and her mother then hit her, but we never saw any signs that indicated abuse or anything like that. Back then, it was simply a normal punishment for children in the third grade.
So I didn’t think anything of it . The mother had high expectations of Lee, but I can’t criticize that. All parents should have high expectations of their children. I know that this incident took place in a different time, and things were perhaps viewed very differently back then in Mississippi, USA . I find these words highly alarming, especially coming from a teacher, particularly since the teacher said in the same interview that she often didn’t tell Leule’s mother when she was in trouble, precisely because she didn’t want her to get beaten at home for it.
It sounds to me very much like the teacher was also aware that there were some problems going on at Lee’s and her mother’s home . Donald also remembers this time today and how Wicky often tried to cure him of visiting Lay . He wonders if she did that so that Lame wouldn’t confide in him that something was wrong at home, or, as Donald puts it much more accurately, that Wicky was doing evil [ __ ].
A friend named Celeste further recalls that her stepfather Barnie regularly beat her. It even went so far that Le attended a discussion group for children in a mental crisis, a kind of unofficial group therapy. Her friend Zelest was also there because she had been in foster care as a child and was able to talk to the discussion group about her experience.
Lee also reported the violence she suffered at the hands of her stepfather there. Celest was never questioned by the police about her friend’s disappearance. Another of her school friends has been constantly thinking about an encounter with Le ever since the mysterious disappearance . My friend once saw Lear picking and eating bears in the schoolyard.
Her friend warned her that the bears might be poisonous. Lay is said to have replied that she didn’t care and perhaps she wanted to die. Le later said it was a Macabra joke, but since Bani’s disappearance and the rumors surrounding her, her friend finds this statement eerie. Laye’s then-boyfriend Jordan also remembers a memorable phone call.
Lay had contacted Jordan a few months before her disappearance and had cried intensely. She had apparently locked herself out of her home and her stepfather was angry. She is also said to have stated that she was afraid of him. He shouted at her. John tried to ask more questions, but Le wouldn’t say anything more. Jordan says that this was the first and only time she had said something like that about Bani .
La Donald claims to have learned from someone in the relevant police department that Bar had confessed to being violent towards Lay. Of course, we don’t know to what extent that’s actually true. Perhaps you still remember the witness I mentioned at the beginning . She had reported possibly seeing Lane accompanied by a man, immediately after the girl’s disappearance.
However, she only communicated this over the phone, and research revealed in 2016 that her cinnamon was never actually recorded. So it wasn’t until 33 years later that a proper statement was made. Although her observation dates back more than three decades , the witness describes a man. He was rather short and stocky, with grey hair and a scraggly beard .
His jacket was a green army jacket. This description would actually fit Barnie quite well . However, he died in 1997, so he can no longer be questioned. However, during the initial investigation in 1992, he was ruled out as a perpetrator. Officially, there has never been a suspect in the Lei case . It was explicitly stated only that Wick Felten could not be ruled out as a person of interest.
Wicky herself brings a man from her church community into the equation. This might sound like a crude attempt at distraction at first, but what Vicki has to report is quite well-founded. Before their daughter disappeared, the couple had visited Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. A man named Oscar McKinley Kn, who everyone calls Mike, was also hanging around there.
In the church community, he was involved in youth work, among other things . He led the Sunday school and organized Bible study groups during the holidays. And as we know from a friend of Lee’s at the time, the 13-year-old participated in the church’s holiday program . Just like Lee, Mike was passionate about horses and regularly rode at a stable in North Thomas Street in Typelo.
Mike is said to have invited her there once or twice, and perhaps it’s the most exciting place. Mike lived just one and a half kilometers away at the time of La’s disappearance. Wicky says Le would definitely have trusted this man from the church . enough to open the front door for him, contrary to her usual caution.
In fact, this Mike committed serious crimes after Lay’s disappearance . In 1999 he confessed to kidnapping a married couple in Union County and abusing the woman . And according to police records, his criminal career began much earlier, less than 9 months after Lay’s disappearance. Mike went to Memphis and kidnapped a ninth-grade girl whom he had previously met at the church .
The whole thing seemed almost eerily similar to the Lei case. The 15-year-old schoolgirl was home alone when she was abducted from her house shortly after 7 a.m. in May 1993. Under the pretext of giving her a car to drive her to school, Mike held her captive and abused her in a remote location . He then actually dropped her off at her school, from where the girl immediately notified the police.
Mike pleaded guilty and received a 24-year prison sentence. Incredibly, 16 years of his sentence were suspended, and he didn’t even have to serve the remaining 8 years . In October 1997, he was released after less than 4 years, and in 1999 the couple was kidnapped in Union County. This time, at least, he received a prison sentence of 20 years, which he actually had to serve.
Mike was questioned several times about Leay Oakki’s disappearance, but each time he refused to provide any information. At the beginning, he said he would take a lie detector test, provided his lawyer agreed. However, the lawyer disagreed. Although Mike was released from prison in 2019, he passed away in 2021.
If he is responsible for La’s disappearance, then he has taken this secret to his grave . He was never named as a suspect by the police. There is no evidence linking Mike to Lane’s disappearance . Or so they say. Although the lead sounded promising, it quickly went cold again. Today, the missing Leoki case in Typelo is something of an urban myth.
Everyone has their own theory. Everyone knows someone who knew someone back then. And to this day, everyone wonders what happened to the then 13-year-old. Jordan, who was dating Lay at the time, still suffers from her disappearance. The two were best friends. Now an adult, Jordan views much of the investigation surrounding Lay with skepticism.
For example, he cannot or will not explain why he was never questioned by the police . After all, the two spoke to each other on the phone every day, and if the police had analyzed the phone logs , this would surely have been noticed. He believes he should have been questioned for that reason alone.
Jordan even called on the day Lay disappeared. Instead of La, her mother Wick answered and told him Lei had disappeared. At the age of 13, Jordan didn’t yet understand what that meant. On January 29, 2025, there will be excitement again on Honey Locus Drive in Typolo. Almost 33 years after Leis’s disappearance, the police returned to the street where she once vanished.
Wicky Felten has n’t lived there for a long time. After all the rumors about her and her ex-wife’s behavior, she left the US state of Mississippi decades ago . House number 105, where Late last lived with her mother Wiki , is not searched on this day , but a sewer at the end of the cul-de-sac is. They are digging there, and dogs are also being used.
This is not the first time the police have searched there. They disappeared immediately after Lace, and then another look was made here in 2015. Following the 2025 search, the statement was rather cryptic: “While the results of the search cannot be released at this time , investigators remain committed to pursuing all leads and gathering information related to the case.
No further statements will be made at this time.” When Lee disappeared, work was apparently underway on the canal to improve stormwater drainage . However, the work was interrupted by the hurricane, just before the section of the canal that likely ran along Lei and Wick’s backyard. In May 2025, a local forensic expert who participated in the search stated that police believe Leay’s body may still be on the property.
He also mentioned that items had been found, but of course, he could n’t specify what. Several months prior to this search, in late 2024, Wicky Felden filed a petition in Mississippi court to have Lay Oki declared legally dead after more than three decades . Lay’s father, Donald, later signed this petition as well.
and so agreed. As the search in 2025 shows, the case file remains open, and perhaps the Leoki case can still be solved someday. That brings us to the end of today’s video, and I’m more than eager to hear your comments. There are basically two theories to focus on here. Either you’re suspicious of Wiki and Barnie, or you take a closer look at the situation with this Mike.
I have to say that both theories seem plausible to me for similar reasons. The evidence at the scene seems consistent with the fact that Las suffered a severe head injury against the door frame, hence the blood at a height of 1.5 meters and the hair stuck to it. We know that not only Barnie but also Wiki allegedly beat her repeatedly.
And you simply can’t let something like that go as a mere disciplinary measure . Especially not when a child disappears in the same house and presumably even died there. On the other hand, I can easily imagine that Leemanden like Mike would have sought refuge from the church. She had few Ellen, a friend and neighbor of the same age, told me that Le often sought contact with adult neighbors .
This would be a plausible explanation, especially when things were bad at home. Unfortunately, his police record clearly shows that a man like Mike was willing to exploit such situations. Or what do you think? I ‘m curious to hear your thoughts. Incidentally, this also supports the channel, as any interaction increases the likelihood that the video will be suggested to people who are n’t yet subscribed to Solito.
